Itinerary
It is a lovely stroll through mixed forests of deodar, oak, and rhododendron. Triund is situated on a ridge with a breathtaking view of the Kangra Valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other. Overnight accommodations are available in either a rest house or tents.
The trek on the second day will cover a distance of 4 kilometers (one way). This trek will take you along glacial moraines. The base camp for the shepherds is situated at Laka Got, which is located at the snout of a small glacier. This glacier is known as the snow-line.
The Triund trek is known as the crown jewel of Dharamshala, situated in the laps of the Dhauladhar mountains. With a perfect view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other, it can be described as a tranquil trek that can be easily accomplished by people of all age groups. The byway leading to Triund passes through a beautiful mixed forest of oak, deodar, and rhododendron.
